CRYOPIPE®

Cryopipe® composite cryogenic pipe

Composite pipe engineers for extreme-temperature infrastructure, combining smooth bore, low thermal movement, low weight and reel deployment

Enoflex selects composite materials engineered for the challenging environments found in liquid and gas energy transfer.

Two core materials make up the current range.

WHAT IT IS

Single Polymer Composite (SPC)

Patented material using long, unidirectional fibres combined in a matrix of the same polymer to produce a high-strength tape. The tape is fused in layers using lasers in Enoflex's precision manufacturing process, then spooled onto transportation or installation reels. SPC pipe performs across a wide range, from ambient to cryogenic applications.

PEEK-CF

Made from carbon fibre and PEEK, with high resistance to heat, common oilfield chemicals and permeation. Unidirectional tape is fused by laser, layer by layer, in a fully automated robotic process to form a fully bonded structure with a smooth bore. Tape angle can be adjusted to optimise flexibility, stiffness and strength. Developed in-house by the Enoflex team.

Advance composite construction fused layer by layer using laser energy to create a fully bonded pipe with a smooth bore.

HOW CRYOPIPE® WORKS

Smooth bore

No corrugation, unlike stainless steel hose, reducing friction losses

Low coefficient of thermal expansion

Contracts far less than steel when cooled to cryogenic temperatures.

Composite construction

SPC or PEEK-CF, built in layers for pressure and thermal performance.

Reel deployment

Manufactured and supplied on reels, pulled through in continuous lengths.

↓ ~ 3x

Lower pressure drop

Reduced pressure drop versus corrugated steel

PERFORMANCE ADVANTAGE

↓ ~ 3x

Lower thermal contraction

Less movement reducing the need for expansion loops

Lighter installation

Easier to handle on site, reducing installation time and cost

Application specific design

Tape angle and layup can be tuned per project
